There is one grave in the "War Graves Plot" which does not belong to someone in the services.

It is the one for Bessie Bland Cook (Bunny) nee Birbeck
and has the following data on it:
21st April, 1912   16th Jan. 1943
Beloved wife of Flight Lt. Edward G. Cook D.F.C R.A.F.

Her obituary in the Assiniboia Times gives more details:

She was born in Liverpool, England and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Birbeck
She married Flt. Sgt. Cook in 1934.
Flt. Sgt. Cook arrived in Canada in January, 1942, with the first RAF contingent posted to #34 E.F.T.S. Assiniboia.
Mrs. Cook arrived in Assiniboia in August 1942, along with her son.
She died after a brief illness.
She was survived by her husband, her son in Assiniboia and by her parents and two brothers and five sisters in England.
It should be noted that the obituary gives her husband's rank as Flt. Sgt., whereas the inscription on the headstone is Flight Lt.

Notes
1) "They Shall Grow Not Old" gives Medicine Hat, Alberta as the location; this is believed in error as #34 S.F.T.S. was there. The more probable location is Assiniboia.
