A number of squadrons were involved in "Special Duties" operations in SEAC.
These operations included dropping agents and supplies in many areas and, after VJ day, dropping supplies to POW camps.
The two main squadrons were 357 and 358, but other Liberator squadrons, such as 159, 200/8, 160 and 203 Squadron were also involve.
The S.D. operations in SEAC started in 1942, and used Hudson aircraft in the earlier operations, until replaced by Dakotas and Liberators. When visiting Kew in 2000, I discovered two files which provide a summary of these activities, from June, 1942 to May 1945.

Some of the earliest operations were carried out by 1576 Flight. Although there appears to be no copy of an "Operational Record Book" for this flight at Kew, I did manage to find a file there which listed some details of their work. Thanks to the help of a "kind soul" in the U.K. I now have a copy of the file, and have produced a full transcription of the record. It can be found at:
