Eleven aircraft took off to escort Lancasters and Halifaxes bombing the railway centre and marshaling yards at Leipzig. Rendezvous made with bombers according to plan. Bombing extremely concentrated and the only enemy opposition was a lone Me 163. The flak over the target area was moderate. One early return due to mechanical trouble. Long range tanks used.

Squadron took off to escort Lancasters and Halifaxes bombing Bayreuth, but owing to late arrival of Form "D" and consequent late take off the Squadron was late on rendezvous. However the Squadron escorted a force of bombers going to Neuremburg, having failed to find the bombers going to Bayreuth. No enemy aircraft opposition was encountered and only moderate flak over target. The Squadron was down at 1745 hours. Long range tanks used.

F/L J.N.G Dick was heard when the Squadron turned back for home, but nothing has been heard of him since. He was last heard from in the Enschede-Munster area of Germany. Three early returns due to mechanical trouble. Long range tanks used.

Berlin and here some FW 190’s were bounced by the Squadron. In the ensuing combat one FW 190 was destroyed - shared by J.37856 F/O L.H. Wilson and J.28182 F/O R.J. Airborne at 1030 hours with 611 Squadron to orbit enemy airfields in Northern Germany and Southern Denmark while Lancasters were bombing Heligoland. The Wing Leader, Lt. Col. Christie, flying with 611 Squadron had engine trouble and was forced to bale out 15 miles S.W. of Handorf. Seen to land safely, but presumably in German territory. No enemy opposition in the air but many twin engined aircraft seen on the airfields. Shipping was sighted in Plansburg harbour, Lubeck area and Eckernferder Bay. On the return journey results of the bombing were observed, it appeared to have been well concentrated with a large oil fire still burning. One early return due to mechanical trouble. Long range tanks used.

Jeffrey was forced to belly land his aircraft at Chiloham near Canterbury owing to engine trouble, but the pilot was uninjured. Aircraft Cat. "E". One early return due to mechanical trouble.
